Explore Countries uses a simulated 3D globe interface as a mechanism for selecting a country of interest, and then navigating to an HTML page that lists user-recommended websites about that country's history, culture, natural features and more. Each country has a special icon that is outside the globe. Clicking a country's icon will "select" it, causing the globe to "rotate" and 'land' on that country. When this animation is complete, the user is automatically redirected to the HTML page listing favorite websites about that country. Visitors are encouraged to explore the suggested sites and recommend their own valued websites. This experience organizes and contextualizes a variety of user-recommended websites by country, creating the effect of a compelling and completely interactive field trip.
