Negative Feedback
To see negative feedback in action, play with the minimum (blue arrow) and minimum (red arrow) room temperature limits. Then learn how Flash objects were used to create this simulation.
Producer's Note:
This applet uses an adjustable thermostat and humorous animation to demonstrate "negative feedback"—a stabilizing process where some input is returned to a system's output. When the temperature reaches the blue maximum line, the heat turns off. When the temperature drops to the red minimum line, the heat turns on. Adjust the lines to see what temperature range keeps the man comfortable. Learn how to use Flash objects to create your own animated simulation.
