Positive Feedback
Move the slider to increase the sound input and see how the positive feedback loop grows, then explore ways to use and control sound in Flash.
Producer's Note:
This applet uses adjustable sound to demonstrate "positive feedback"—an amplifying process where input to a system is rapidly increased. A loudspeaker uses positive feedback to increase the volume of sounds. Audio feedback—the piercing squeal that occurs when sound from a speaker enters a microphone—is a positive feedback loop that has become unstable. Check out the "Try This" ideas to learn about adding and controlling sounds in Flash.
